The group Foxtrails formed from an artists’ collective in Venice Beach, CA. In 2015 Blake Mcleod of St. Louis returned to Los Angeles from his hometown. There, he moved in with multi-instrumentalists Michael Brenner, Dane Sandborg, and Cory Yamashiro, of Southern California, and Micah Sohl, of Seattle. Though Brenner, Sandborg, Yamashiro, and Sohl were already involved in other music projects. Their collective housing and shared musical interests from the global spectrum drew the band together. They released their first album in May of 2018 on Prizefight Records. Since the release of the album they have been played on KCRW and performed at many of the clubs and venues in and around Los Angeles. In the past year they have added percussionist extraordinaire Dylan Grombacher and multi-instrumentalist Nikita Sorokin. They are currently working on their second album and will be playing the Lightning in a Bottle and Sacred Grounds Festivals this Summer. Foxtrails first album is available on iTunes and all major music platforms.
